Uhuru Kenyatta Convenes Special Jubilee Party NDC
Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a 21-day urgent notice to all party members, informing them of a forthcoming National Delegates Conference (NDC) at the end of this month.
In the notification dated August 5, Uhuru underlined the three primary topics to be tackled during the conference.
“Pursuant to Article 8.1 and 10.1 of the Jubilee Party Constitution, 21 days’ notice is hereby issued for a Special National Delegates Convention to be held at the Jockey Club, Nairobi, Kenya,” the notice reads in part.

The NDC’s three objectives include hearing a status report from the National Executive Committee (NEC), evaluating and drafting party policy, and examining other critical issues impacting the party.
The notification came hours after Uhuru presided over the first Jubilee NEC meeting following the end of a series of legal fights that had raised questions about the party’s direction and leadership.
The meeting focused on examining the state of the party, assessing progress on ongoing projects, and outlining a strategic route to enhance it as the 2027 General Election approaches.
“The meeting deliberated on key issues affecting the party, including a comprehensive review of party affairs, progress made on ongoing programmes, and strategic plans for reinvigorating the party’s structures and operations,” a statement by the party after the NEC read in part.
Pauline Njoroge, the party’s Deputy Secretary General, confirmed the NEC meeting and called it as a watershed moment for the party.

Following a lengthy legal battle, the former President reclaimed full control of the old ruling party.
In 2023, a faction led by Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege sought to depose Uhuru and deport his key friends, including Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and Vice Chairman David Murathe.
A High Court verdict in September 2024 and a gazette notice in June 2025 reinstated Uhuru and his team, affirming their legitimacy.
