“Stop Insulting Gachagua!” – Uhuru Kenyatta Warns Jubilee Leaders
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta defended Rigathi Gachagua, asking Jubilee Party officials not to attack the former Deputy President.
Speaking in Murang’a on Friday afternoon, Uhuru underlined his dissatisfaction with what he termed as continuous divisive politics among some party members.
Uhuru, who spoke at a Jubilee grassroots meeting, warned party members against abusive politics and urged them to express their opinions properly.
In a blunt remark, Uhuru challenged individuals who criticize other politicians, particularly those in opposition, to rigorously adhere to his directive or leave the party.
“At times, I’m saddened to see people on social media who pretend to defend the party by insulting Rigathi Gachagua and others,” Uhuru said.
“I don’t want that nonsense at my party. People should do their politics respectfully.”

Adding, ” It’s sad that most of them are party officials and let me say this, before I hand over this party, if they continue doing so, I will not hesitate to call them out and send them packing. I don’t want to hear that ever again.”
The former Head of State explicitly targeted Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, telling him not to lead other party members in attacking Gachagua.
Uhuru advised party leaders to focus on selling the party’s manifesto and objectives to attract new members rather than attacking other leaders on social media.
During the discussion, Uhuru also expressed his support for former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi’s presidential ambitions, stating that he had worked with him and sees his ability.
He, however, denied suggestions that his support for Matiang’i was personal, calling the former Interior Secretary a high achiever with accomplishments dating back to the previous administration.

Meanwhile, Uhuru’s remarks came a month after Kioni blasted Gachagua for allegedly bullying the party’s presidential candidate, Fred Matiang’i.
Speaking during an interview in September this year, the Jubilee Secretary General alleged that Gachagua has been trying to coerce Matiang’i to quit the party.
Kioni also claimed that the former DP was secretly working with President William Ruto’s administration ahead of the 2027 elections, labelling him a mole in the opposition.
