Ruto Adds More Promises In Kitui To Improve Healthcare

President William Ruto has announced measures to promote universal healthcare through collaboration with local governments.

He focused on the Social Health Authority’s initiatives to enhance primary healthcare services and social health insurance.

Following a meeting with Kitui Governor Julius Malombe and county health authorities at State Lodge Kitui, Ruto stated that the discussions centered on how to improve healthcare delivery and ensure that all Kenyans can access services.

“We are modernising public health facilities by providing, maintaining, and upgrading medical equipment under the fee-for-service model, through the National Equipment Service Programme, in Kitui and across the country,” he said.

The programme supplies, maintains, and updates medical equipment in hospitals around the country, including Kitui.

The President stated that hospitals are being outfitted with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic technologies such as MRI machines, CT scanners, X-ray and ultrasound devices, among others.

President Ruto also announced that the national government will invest Sh200 million to build a Level 4 hospital in Mutito.

It will later be known as the Nzamba Kitonga Memorial Hospital in honor of the late Chairman of the Committee of Experts.

The efforts aim to improve healthcare quality, increase access to key services, and strengthen county hospitals’ ability to provide modern medical care.

The meeting followed Ruto’s tour of Kitui County on Thursday.

During the tour, Ruto distributed 30,000 title deeds to inhabitants of Mwingi West and Kitui South.
