“Natembeya Is a Gov’t Mole In Opposition!” – DCP’s Malala Claims
Cleophas Malala, Deputy Leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), accused Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya of collaborating with President William Ruto, causing cracks to develop in the united opposition.
Malala accused the DAP-Kenya deputy party leader of allegedly working with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to foment discord within the opposition during his address to Kakamega locals on Friday, November 14.
Malala said that Natembeya was working closely with Ruto’s administration to sway the outcome of the impending by-elections in favor of pro-government candidates.
“President Ruto’s government has seen that we are going to win all these by-elections and has gone ahead to bribe one of us by the name George Natembeya,” Malala alleged.
Instead of providing alternative leadership, the opposition seems busy fighting internally. Malala vs Natembeya is just another sign that unity in that alliance is on shaky ground.#KatooGovernorKajiadoOle Metito Empowers Edwin Sifuna Bonga Points The Commission #HonouringTheLe pic.twitter.com/0sRlFgzQPb

According to Malala, Natembeya was allegedly bribed by the government to influence the results of the Kisa East Member of County Assembly elections.
Malala expressed disappointment in Natembeya, claiming that he was determined to cause a rift between Rigathi Gachagua’s DCP and Eugene Wamalwa’s DAP-Kenya.
“The government directed him to disrupt the campaigns of the opposition in Kisa East so that the government could win,” he added.
“So Natembeya came here in Kisa East all the way from Trans Nzoia to cause division between DCP people and DAP-Kenya members.”
While portraying the governor as a double-minded individual and a mole in the opposition, Malala argued that Natembeya was still locked in the old mindset rather than transitioning to a political leader.
“I have realised that you have not moved on from the mindset of a police officer to a governor because you are double-minded,” Malala said.
“Natembeya is being used by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to divide us.”
The rising tensions within the opposition came only days after DAP-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa denied allegations of planning to collaborate with Ruto’s broad-based administration in 2027.
Addressing a gathering on Wednesday, November 12, Wamalwa stated that he would only consider the offer if all opposition leaders participated in talks with the administration.

“I got many calls from enquiring people, saying they had heard Kalonzo and I were being sought by Ruto,” Wamalwa said.
“Even Gachagua asked if Ruto was indeed looking for us. And he said we should not leave him behind.”
Adding, “I would like to tell Gachagua that if Ruto calls us, we will inform him that Gachagua is our spokesperson. We will tell Ruto that if he is looking for us, he should go to Wamunyoro and speak with Gachagua.”
He affirmed the opposition’s commitment to unseat President Ruto in 2027, further urging Kenyans not to fall for the Head of State’s antics.
