NAIROBI: Sakaja Moves Mosiria From The Environment Docket
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has removed Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria from the environment docket effective immediately, as part of a fresh Cabinet restructuring in the county administration.
Sakaja announced in a notice issued by the governor on Tuesday, November 18, that Mosiria will now lead the Citizen Engagement and Customer Service committee.
Hibrahim Otieno, who previously led the Medical Facilities Docket, will now take over the environmental sector.
According to Sakaja, the reshuffles affecting 10 County Chief Officers were undertaken in accordance with Section 45(5) of the County Government Act of 2012.
Godfrey Akumali has been transferred from Business and Hustler Opportunities to Housing and Urban Renewal.
Tony Michale Kimani, who previously led the Social Services sector, now leads both the Social Services and Estate Management sectors.
Lydia Mathia, who was formerly the County Chief Officer for Housing and Urban Renewal, will now work on the Business and Hustler Opportunities docket, while Sande Oyolo, who was in charge of the Digital Economy and Startups, has been transferred to Medical Facilities.
Wilson Gakuya, who formerly led the Smart Nairobi sector, will now lead the Digital Economy and Start Ups, while Mache Waikenda has been promoted from the Mobility Sector to Mobility and AG ICT Infrastructure.
Clement Rapudo, who previously led the City’s Culture, Arts, and Tourism Sector, has been assigned to the Smart Nairobi Sector.
Finally, Zipporah Mwangi moves on from Citizen Engagement and Customer Service to City Culture, Arts, and Tourism.

A county chief officer is a senior official in a county government who oversees and manages a certain county department.
Their responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of a department, assuring departmental performance, and deploying public officials within their department.
These officers report to the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for that department and play an important role in implementing county policy and providing effective service delivery.
