Horrific Head-On Collision Kills Several People, Injures 3 Others
An unknown number of individuals were killed in a horrific head-on accident between a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) and a trailer on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
According to accounts, the accident happened on Sunday morning, December 7, in the Masenyi area near Voi.
The PSV was heading to Mombasa, while the trailer was going in the opposite direction.
According to some sources, around seven people were killed during the incident; however, no official authorities have confirmed this.
According to photos uploaded online, the PSV vehicle’s front end was demolished, while the trailer suffered minimal damage. Following the collisions, both vehicles were forced off the road.
Following the tragedy, additional motorists, police, and emergency responders gathered in the area to investigate the situation and assist the survivors.

The Motorists Association of Kenya (MAK) confirmed the event on Sunday, December 7, and condemned the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) for its reluctance to upgrade the congested roadway to dual carriageways.
“Kinatwa heading to Mombasa Head-on Trailer. Several travellers have died,” MAK said.
“Three people were reported to have survived with serious injuries. We blame it on KeNHA’s 20-year lack of making the highway dual.”
The catastrophe occurred two days after another crash on Friday, December 5, in which a PSV truck overturned in Bumala, Busia County, killing four people.
According to accounts, the tragedy occurred in the Wakhungu district of Nangina Ward in the Funyula constituency, when the victims were traveling from Bumala to Port Victoria.

According to Samia Sub-County OCPD Richard Moracha, the driver, a woman, and two men are among those who perished, while the other injured survivors were rushed to Nangina Mission Hospital for treatment.
Preliminary reports suggest that the vehicle experienced a burst front tyre, causing the driver to lose control.
Moracha, however, assured that security agencies have kick-started a probe to determine what exactly led to the accident.
