“I Discussed Everything With Him For Two Hours!” – Winnie Odinga Reveals Raila’s Last Moments
The late former prime minister Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, has stated that the final discussions she had with her father were extremely private and should be kept that way.
Winnie claimed to have spent two hours with her father the night before he passed away in an interview with Citizen TV on January 27.
“We sat in his room for two hours discussing everything,” she said.
Not all of their talks were intended for public consumption, she continued.
Winnie Odinga: It’s quite a difficult topic for me to discuss. We had a very complex relationship. He was my father, he was my party leader, he was my mentor and he was also my closest friend and coping with this difficult time without him has been quite difficult… pic.twitter.com/IwEimZ1jcA

“They were deeply personal, and I feel it would be disrespectful of me to share those personal conversations that I had in private with the public,” Winnie said.
She also warned against speculating about what her father might have said in his last moments.
“There are very many people who may now say that the party leader may have said this and that. I feel it is not incumbent upon them to bring that into the forefront,” she said.
“I think it is disrespectful to the departed, and I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to discuss that.”
Winnie Odinga also considered her long-standing professional relationship with her father.
“For the last 15 years, I have worked at his side, no matter the dispensation,” she said.
She claimed that while they had many similarities, they also had significant differences.
“We used to challenge each other, we used to test each other and push each other,” she said.
According to Winnie, their connection is complicated and difficult for her to talk about.
“He was my father, he was my party leader, he was my mentor, and he was also my closest friend and coping with this difficult time without him has been quite difficult,” she said.
Winnie Odinga: I have met Oketch Salah but I’d like to believe nobody really knows him. A flat-out lie that you were there at the time of my father’s death and you were not and talking about things that did not occur is quite dangerous and makes me question his intentions.
