SHOCKING! Armed Man Caught On Video Shooting At Students’ Hostel

A number of Kenyans have expressed their concerns and displeasure following the widespread distribution of a frightening video depicting a man firing at a student’s house party.

The video, which went viral on social media on Saturday morning, shows a tense nocturnal scenario inside a residential complex near the University of Nairobi’s Kikuyu Campus.

In the video, a man dressed in what appears to be plain clothes approaches a residential area known to be primarily occupied by university students from the UoN Kikuyu campus.

The armed man looks to be with others who enter the building. While his comrades enter the residence, he moves to the window and fires three rounds.

Throughout the encounter, the occupants could be heard yelling at the men and threatening to reprimand them.

“Everybody lie down. Hands up, don’t lie to each other. Bring your hand,” one of the men was heard saying.

The event has sparked extensive debate and censure on social media, with some questioning the necessity of employing force at a house party.

“A police officer walked into a civilian’s house and discharged a military-grade weapon like he was clearing terrorists,” stated an online user.

“Who trained him? Who authorised that? Who told him students are enemies of the state?”

Others, however, asked for a thorough inquiry to discover the circumstances that led to the incident and whether correct processes were followed.

“We should reconsider the qualifications of our armed servicemen. These incidents of police brutality and harassment against Kenyans should be a thing of the past,” said another.

As the video continues to circulate, pressure is increasing on the National Police Service (NPS) to explain what happened and confirm the identities of the armed individuals.

The incident comes on the backdrop of widespread concerns about the use of force by police officers against civilians, with many now calling for tougher action against rogue officers.

Just two days ago, the Interior Cabinet Secretary came under pressure from Senators to explain the surge in incidents of police brutality across the country.

Speaking while attending a Senate session on Wednesday, February 25, Murkomen refuted claims that cases of police brutality have peaked under the current administration.

The CS insisted that police brutality is not a new phenomenon but noted that President William Ruto’s administration was implementing measures to reverse the trend.
