Goons Raid Irungu Nyakera’s Hotel In Kisumu, Ruto PS Allegedly Involved
CCTV footage has revealed the chaos and frantic moments when goons stormed former Principal Secretary Irungu Nyakera’s hotel in Kisumu, destroying properties and walking away with some goods.
At around 5:15am on Wednesday, March 11, tens of unknown individuals armed with crude weapons, including machetes, are seen entering the hotel and overpowering the security officer stationed at the gate.
The individuals run inside the hotel and start to destroy goods.
At around 5:17am, they were captured cutting furniture and other goods, seemingly kitchen equipment, at the bar-counter section of the hotel.
Some of the goons who masked their faces and others put on helmets to prevent being recognised are then seen coming out of the bar section carrying several goods.
Following the incident, Irungu Nyakera, owner of the hotel, reportedly fired his gun twice to disperse the goons who had raided the hotel.
According to Nyakera, the goons who stormed the hotel also attacked workers and tied up a lady guard before proceeding to damage properties.
However, Nyakera claims the goons were sent by his political opponents, noting that he was present at the hotel during the time of the attack.
Following the attack, Nyakera’s records were destroyed, properties of unknown value were damaged, and injuries were inflicted on staff members working at the hotel.
Nyakera also claims that he sought the help of the area OCS, who failed to provide help.

“At 5am today, over 100 goons attacked my hotel in Kisumu, damaging property and injuring our staff, including tying up the security lady,” Nyakera said in a statement on X.
“Upon hearing the commotion, I quickly went after them, shooting twice in the air as they fled.”
“I called the OCS and asked for backup, but an hour later, when no backup was forthcoming, I sent him a message that I intended to shoot anyone stepping onto my property,” he added.
“I hope he shared the message in their security WhatsApp group.”
He further claims that a similar attack had been witnessed weeks before when goons stormed into the facility, carted away key merchandise, and briefly locked them out of the property.
