KUCCPS: How To Check KMTC September 2025 Intake Results

KMTC Announces Fresh Guidelines On Student Deferment, Course Change & Transfers

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has issued new guidelines outlining how students can apply for deferment of studies, change of course, or transfer to a different campus.

The institution on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, announced that all such requests must now be submitted exclusively through its official online admissions portal.

KMTC disclosed that the entire process had been digitised, allowing applicants to access services conveniently without visiting campuses physically.

“KMTC informs all applicants that requests for a change of campus, a change of course, or a deferment of studies are now submitted through the official KMTC admissions portal,” the institution announced.

According to the guidelines, students seeking any of the three services, either deferment, change of course, or change of campus, must first log in to the admissions portal using their credentials at admissions.ac.ke

Once logged in, applicants are required to navigate to the dropdown menu located at the top left of the screen and select the specific service they need.

After selecting the appropriate option, students must fill in the required details and submit.

KMTC noted that once a request is submitted, the status of the submission will remain marked as ‘submitted’ until it is reviewed by the Admissions Office.

Applicants will then receive a text message notification confirming whether their request has been approved or declined.

The institution also clarified that approval for a change of campus or course will mainly depend on the availability of space in the preferred programme or location.

This means that not all requests will automatically be granted, especially in courses or campuses that have already reached capacity.

Additionally, KMTC announced that requests for deferment for the September 2026 intake are currently closed, with students intending to postpone their studies required to consider alternative options.

The college encouraged applicants to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information and guidance regarding admissions and student services.

During the announcement, KMTC officials also warned students to be wary of fake admission letters circulating online and urged students to report such cases.
