Fresh Details From Kilimani Murder As CCTV Shows Final Moments To The Fatal Stabbing

CCTV footage has revealed the final moments before a 25-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her ex-boyfriend along Kirichwa Road in Kilimani on Thursday night.

The footage showed the incident began around 6pm on May 14, as the pair left work together and headed home from a building along Kirichwa Road.

The two walked side by side before the ex-lover suddenly turned on the woman, ambushing her in full view of bystanders and narrowly missing passing vehicles.

Minutes later, the victim was seen running toward a nearby pharmacy and stumbling inside, with the suspect in close pursuit.

Cameras inside the pharmacy captured the 22-year-old man stabbing the woman repeatedly as she fell to the ground.

After the attack, the suspect calmly walked off as the wounded woman tried to get back on her feet, managing only a few unsteady steps before collapsing outside the pharmacy and succumbing to her injuries.

According to witnesses, the man noticed bystanders closing in and dropped to the ground next to the victim, holding onto her body and feigning injury in what appeared to be an attempt to escape mob justice.

Officers responding to the scene took him to a hospital after he insisted he had been hurt.

However, medical staff found his body intact and concluded that the bloodstains on his clothing had come from the woman he had attacked.

Preliminary findings indicate the suspect had reported to work earlier in the day carrying a knife, raising suspicions of a planned attack, investigators said.

Police believe the killing stemmed from a troubled relationship between the two, who previously worked at the same money-lending firm along Ngong Road.

They also had recently separated after the woman left the suspect’s home in Kawangware to stay with her aunt.

Kilimani Sub-County Police Commander Patricia Yegon confirmed that members of the public restrained the suspect before officers arrived, adding that he had sustained no injuries during the incident.

The suspect is being held at Kilimani Police Station as detectives recover the murder weapon for forensic analysis ahead of the arraignment on Monday.
