KITUI: Man Stones Mother To Death After A Domestic Brawl
Police are looking into an incident in which a 68-year-old mother was allegedly slain by her son after a domestic disagreement in Nyangalyo Village, Mbitini Location, Kisasi Subcounty, Kitui County.
Locals reported the event to police on Saturday, stating that a woman had been struck with a stone and killed.
Police officers arrived at the location and saw the body of the deceased, Musangi Maluku Mumbani, lying outside her home.
Although the body showed no evident physical injuries, preliminary investigations revealed that the dead had been beaten with a stone by her son after the two reportedly clashed about home issues.
The suspect is alleged to have fled immediately after the incident but was later arrested by police.
The body was moved to Kitui General Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing as the suspect remains in custody pending further legal action.
In a different incident, detectives in Meru County are searching for a woman alleged to have fatally stabbed her boyfriend during an incident in Kinnameru Village, Mutuati Subcounty.
The incident was reported on Saturday after the public had discovered a man lying by the roadside in a pool of blood.

Police responded to the scene and established that the deceased, identified as Nyaga Wambogo, a 40-year-old man from Embu County, had allegedly been stabbed on the left side of the chest.
Police said the suspected attacker was the victim’s girlfriend. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The motive behind the fatal attack has not yet been established.
According to police, the suspect fled immediately after the incident towards Meru National Park and remained at large as officers launched a manhunt.
The scene was processed by investigators, and the body was moved to Nyambene Level Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
Investigations into the murder are ongoing.
