Horror, Terror Creeps Mandera After Heavily Armed Suspected Al-Shabaab Launch Coordinated Attacks
On Friday evening, suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists reportedly launched synchronized attacks on two towns in the Lafey Constituency of Mandera County, sparking a security response.
According to preliminary reports, the first incident occurred between 6 and 7 p.m. in Fino, followed by a similar assault about an hour later in Arabia.
The event caused terror among residents, who said that the intruders were highly armed.
Security forces were reportedly dispatched to the affected area to control the situation and apprehend the perpetrators.
Residents reported hearing strong gunfire around both towns as security personnel exchanged fire with suspected extremists.

An audio clip circulating online captured the sound of sustained gunfire as the attacks unfolded, although it was not immediately clear which of the two towns the recordings originated from.
According to witnesses, the attacks forced many families to flee their homes or seek shelter as the situation developed.
In Fino, residents said the infant son of the headteacher at Fino Primary School was injured during the incident and was reportedly taken to Mandera County Referral Hospital for treatment.

The full extent of the attacks, including possible casualties or property damage, had not been established by the time of publication.
The attacks add to ongoing security concerns in Mandera County, where suspected Al-Shabaab militants have repeatedly carried out cross-border raids.
Last week, police said at least 11 suspected Al-Shabaab militants were killed during an intelligence-led security operation targeting a makeshift camp near the Kenya-Somalia border in Mandera.
According to security officials, the operation was conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) with aerial support after intelligence reports indicated that about 30 suspected militants had assembled at the camp to plan an attack on villages along the Mandera border.
In addition, days ago, police began searching for two schoolboys, aged 13 and 15, who were suspected to have been recruited by the Al-Shabaab militant group after they failed to return home from a routine school pickup.
