Defence Ministry Releases Names Of Candidates Set KDF Civilian Jobs
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has released the names of 106 candidates shortlisted for interviews for civilian positions advertised late last year, with successful applicants set to appear before interview panels at Ulinzi House in Nairobi.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, the ministry announced that the shortlisting process for vacancies advertised on December 30, 2025, had been completed, paving the way for the next phase of recruitment.
The shortlisted candidates are competing for 30 civilian positions spread across two cadres, comprising 15 Garden Assistant III posts and 15 Support Staff/Sanitary Cleaner positions.
According to the ministry, interviews will be conducted at the Defence Headquarters, Ulinzi House, along Lenana Road, on the dates and times indicated against each candidate’s name.
“The Ministry of Defence wishes to notify the general public that the shortlisting process for the vacancies listed below has been completed,” the notice read.
Candidates have been directed to report for interviews with their original national identity cards, academic and professional certificates, as well as testimonials for verification before the interview process.
The ministry also reminded applicants to ensure all original documents are returned to them before leaving the interview venue after verification.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defence warned candidates against attempting to influence the recruitment process, saying any form of canvassing would result in automatic disqualification.
“Please note that canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification. Report any cases of bribery, fraud, or other corrupt practices to (publicaffairs@mod.go.ke),” the ministry stated.
The full list of shortlisted candidates has been published on the Ministry of Defence’s official website, where applicants can confirm whether they have been selected and check their interview schedules.
The announcement comes as thousands of young Kenyans continue to await the official announcement of this year’s Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise, which is traditionally unveiled between September and October.
The annual KDF recruitment drive typically seeks applicants for General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen and Tradeswomen, as well as Defence Forces Constables, attracting thousands of applicants from across the country.
