Interior PS Warns Kenyans Against Political Intolerance, Violence
Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo has warned against political intolerance and violence that has recently occurred in some sections of Homa Bay, and Kakamega Counties, stating that the government will take action against those responsible.
Omollo spoke at Sasi Primary School on Saturday, warning against political intolerance and urging authorities to focus on service delivery.
“We will not condone any leadership that entertains violence. We are a democracy, everybody has a right to speak and ask for support without any coercion or intimidation,” said the Interior PS.
He went on to say that the ministry will not condone violence and will take action against any leader proven to be conducting political violence in the region.

He advised Homa Bay’s youth not to let politicians manipulate them to incite violence in public meetings.
This follows the mayhem that erupted during an administrative officer’s funeral in Kakamega County’s Mayoni Ward on Saturday.
The incident left the devastated family in disarray after different groups allied with politicians invaded the event, turning it into a battleground.
Supporters of Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa and former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa clashed, causing the deceased’s family to rush through the burial process.
The commotion resulted in injuries to attendees, including a police officer and security workers who intervened to restore order, with some bleeding from the altercation.
