REPORT: Top 10 Best Performing PSs In The Ruto Gov’t

Julius Bitok, Principal Secretary of the State Department of Immigration, has emerged as the highest performing PS according to a poll performed by research firm Politrack Africa.

The opinion poll, conducted between January 4 and January 10, this year, sought to analyze Kenyans’ perceptions of the broad-based government and the prospect of further broadening through a rearrangement of Principal Secretaries.

According to the survey result released on Friday, February 21, Energy PS Alex Wachira tied with Bitok, both receiving approval ratings of 76.5 percent.

The study also ranked Health PS Mary Muthoni as the second-best performing principal secretary in President William Ruto’s cabinet.

The research highlighted remarkable performance across key government ministries, with Mining PS Elijah Mwangi ranking third among the top performers.

Principal Secretaries Joseph Mungai (Roads), Aurelia Rono (Parliamentary Affairs), and Ephantus Kimotho (Irrigation) were placed fourth, fifth, and sixth, with approval ratings of 73.4%, 72.2%, and 70.1%, respectively.

The survey ranked Geoffrey Kaituko (Shipping and Maritime Affairs), Raymond Omollo (Interior), Abubakar Hassan (Investments), and Teresia Mbaika (Devolution) in seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth place, respectively.

The survey was created as an important instrument for strategic decision-making in public service management.

The strong approval ratings in important areas point to excellent policy implementation and effective public service delivery.

Furthermore, the research suggested maintaining leaders in high-performing areas while implementing successful management approaches in other departments.

The survey’s key recommendations include recording successful tactics, conducting performance improvement programmes, and improving interdepartmental collaboration.

According to the study, the opinion poll was done in all counties of Kenya and was only open to Kenyans aged 18 and up, with 1,068 participants in total.

According to the polls, the majority of Kenyans are hopeful about the success of the broad-based government.

Meanwhile, 22% of interviewees indicated approval, while 21% were dubious about its ability to deliver for Kenya.
