‘We Will Continue To Speak On Development Projects!’ – Ruto, Kindiki Say

The government will not stop informing Kenyans about the various projects and programs worth billions of shillings that it is implementing to enhance their lives.

President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said on Friday that it is their constitutional obligation to properly and fully explain to all Kenyans what they are doing to build the country.

“We are determined to have a united and equitable nation. We will continue telling Kenyans what we are doing as a government,” said President Ruto.

“It is not our fault, we are discharging what our Constitution mandates and allows us to do.”

Furthermore, he pushed all leaders to include wananchi in all activities and welcome their input.

They spoke at the burial service for Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa in Magarini, Kilifi County. Mzee Kingi is the father of Senate Speaker Amason Jeffa Kingi.

The Deputy President stated that it is not illegal to promote and elaborate on major programs and projects that are currently being implemented.

“Some political and church leaders are trying to gag us from speaking about the projects and programs the government is implementing,” Prof Kindiki said.

“Our Constitution tasks us to tell Kenyans all the programmes planned for implementation, when and how they will be implemented.”

He urged those attempting to politicize development to cease, stating that they will continue to engage Kenyans and raise awareness of what is happening around the country.

“It is our duty to inform the country of all planned development activities, when those activities are being implemented and to inform them after they have been implemented,” he added.

“We shouldn’t politicize development because the time for politics will come.”

At the same time, Ruto stated that his government will continue to bring development to all parts of the country, particularly smaller and underprivileged regions.

“As we unite the country, we cannot leave the smaller communities behind,” he noted.

“Some are angry that we are constructing a 750km road as a second transport corridor in the North Eastern region but we will construct it.”

The President further stated that the recent proclamation eliminating extra-vetting of Kenyan candidates at the border is being completely enforced to address past discriminatory measures.

“We cannot allow extra vetting before any Kenyan is given identification documents,” he said.

In the coastal region, the President highlighted that the government is implementing multibillion-shilling projects such as housing, markets, roads, and energy connections, among others.
