Sudan’s Al-Burhan Pledges Full Victory Over RSF, Rejects Dialogue
On Saturday, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council and commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), vowed to achieve a complete triumph against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
Al-Burhan has ruled out any negotiations as the military consolidates its recent territorial victories.
“I renew the armed forces’ pledge to the people that there will be no retreat from defeating and crushing the militia,” Al-Burhan said in a televised address.

He added that there will be “no negotiation or compromise with the RSF.”
On March 21, the army declared the seizure of the presidential palace and important administrative facilities in central Khartoum, dealing a significant setback to the RSF.
Five days later, the army took control of Khartoum International Airport, which the RSF had held since April 2023.

However, in a statement on Saturday, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan also offered amnesty to rebel fighters who "repent to the truth" and disarm, particularly those in rebel-held areas. https://t.co/vAzwxQcpES pic.twitter.com/4krYVidVaZ
According to UN assessments, the nearly two-year struggle between the SAF and the RSF has killed tens of thousands, displaced over 15 million people, and brought Sudan to the verge of famine.
With the country’s healthcare system failing, casualty data are difficult to verify.
Attempts to mediate a truce have failed, with both sides accused of breaching human rights and blocking humanitarian relief.
