‘You Have Refused To Complete Uhuru’s Projects!’ – Gachagua Hits At Ruto Ahead Of Mt Kenya Tour
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has issued a caution to President William Ruto ahead of his planned tour of Central Kenya.
Gachagua visited Wangige in Kiambu County on Monday, March 31, for a brief public interaction.
Expectedly, the former DP went after his former employer, accusing him of initiating projects that did not belong to the Kenya Kwanza government.
According to Gachagua, the majority of the projects that Ruto plans to announce were purportedly started by his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I want to tell the President. You are coming to Mount Kenya to tell us which projects you are working on,” Gachagua said.
“But we must say the truth: the projects that are in Central Kenya are those that were initiated by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, and you have refused to complete them.”
''Wewe Unakuja hapa Mt Kenya, Kuwa mtu wa kuongea ukweli. Zile projects ziko hapa ni za Uhuru Kenyatta na umeshindwa kumaliza. Ukija hapa tuambie zile projects zako,''

Prior to his travel, President Ruto plans to visit all vernacular stations in Central Kenya.
Gachagua thinks the move is intended to deceive the people prior to the President’s visit.
Gachagua went on, “Don’t lie to the people of Mount Kenya. I hear he is going to make an appearance on the radio tonight. Will you listen to him?”

The former DP’s comments came only two days after he warned Mount Kenya residents to be mindful of the President’s alleged use of money to sway the voting bloc.
On Saturday, Gachagua claimed that the President will go to any length to win over the region’s voters.
This will be Ruto’s first thorough tour of the Mount Kenya region since August 2024, when Gachagua was still his deputy.
Ruto’s journey, which begins on April 1, is planned to unveil projects in various counties, including Laikipia, Nyeri, Meru, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, and Kiambu.
