CS Ogamba Reacts To Twin Accident Which Killed 3 Students In Homa Bay
Education CS Julius Ogamba has extended a condolence message to the families of the children killed in twin traffic incidents in Homa Bay county on Wednesday.
The accident involved students from Ober Boys Boarding Comprehensive School and Mbita High School.
“The Ministry of Education is working with law enforcement agencies to conduct thorough investigations into the cause of the two accidents,” Ogamba said in a statement Wednesday evening.
“On my behalf and on behalf of the Ministry of Education, I send our condolences to the bereaved families, and also wish a quick recovery to all those injured in the two accidents.”
He stated that the County Director of Education for Homa-Bay County is leading a ministry team to deliver updates on the two accidents.

According to Ogamba, the first accident involving Ober Boys Boarding students occurred near Kibuon on the Sondu-Ahero route when a matatu carrying students from the school collided with a stationary lorry.
He stated three students died in the accident, while three others were injured and are being treated.
According to Ogamba, all parents have been notified, with the exception of one who is now outside the country.
In the second collision, he stated that a vehicle hit four Mbita High School students after veering off the road.

The injured lads were taken to Prince Richard Hospital in Mbita.
According to the CS, two of the youngsters have been taken to Homabay Teaching and Referral Hospital for additional medical treatment and are currently in stable condition.

The road incidents occurred just a week after police cautioned motorists to avoid recklessness that could endanger Kenyans’ lives, particularly when students return home for the holidays.
In a statement to newsrooms on March 28, Nyaga said records reveal that most accidents are caused by preventable human errors.
Which include speeding, dangerous overtaking, drunk driving, overloading and driver fatigue among others.
