In a similar occurrence in March of this year, two pupils at Ramba Boys High School in Rarieda, Siaya County, died after a septic tank fell while they were inside.
According to a police investigation, the two Form Four students were among those standing on top of the septic tank when it collapsed.
The police and Kenya Red Cross officers went to the school that fateful evening and worked all night to recover the bodies of the students who died.
After several hours of searching, the rescuers successfully pulled out the two bodies and later took them to the Bondo Sub-County Referral Hospital for preservation.
