Another National School Accused Of Sexual Assault, Five Staff Implicated
Loreto High School alumni in Limuru have raised similar concerns, just two days after former Alliance Girls High School students denounced allegations of sexual assault at the institution.
In a note dated Friday, July 11, the Loreto Limuru Alumni Association expressed concern about claims of sexual assault by specific teachers at the institution.
The issue was raised during a Board of Management meeting on Friday, 11, which was attended by two former pupils.
The two accused five staff members of sexually grooming girls at a national school.
Commenting on the situation, the school administration stated that it has already begun examining the incidents.

The probe will include summoning the staff members involved in the charges.
During the discussion, it was also resolved that the aforementioned staff should face disciplinary proceedings from the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) in order to secure justice for all victims.
To speed up the process, the Board of Management agreed that more suggestion boxes be strategically placed across the school to improve input collection.
“In this regard, all those who have experienced inappropriate conduct from the said staff are requested to provide this information to deal with the offenders appropriately,” the Alumni Association stated.
While urging a prompt inquiry into the sexual assault incidents, the Alumni Association also urged mental health services for those affected.
They also urged for increased coordination between the Board of Management and the Parents’ Association to guarantee that all violators are held accountable.
The development comes only days after Alliance Girls alumnae staged a demonstration outside the school to protest alleged sexual assault occurrences by a male teacher that occurred over an unknown time period.

On Thursday, July 10, former students gathered outside the school to protest, despite a substantial police presence.
They chastised TSC for failing to respond to their initial letter requesting disciplinary action against the aforementioned teacher.
However, following hours of protests, Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok responded by demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of an Alliance Girls High School teacher.
“That teacher is going to be punished and interdicted. We have talked to TSC and all other stakeholders to ensure that he is arrested,” Bitok affirmed.
