How to Apply for a Tourist Visa To Australia

 Attach all required paperwork. 

You must provide all of the requested documents with your application, including a clear copy of the personal information page of your passport.

Make sure your name is spelled precisely as it appears on your passport, including your middle name.

Check the format of your birth date.

Enter your birth date in the correct format (dd/mm/yy).​

If any of your needed documents is not in English, include both a translation and a copy of the original.

Each translated document must contain (in English) the translator’s

I) Full name, address, and phone number.

II) Qualifications and experience in the language being translated.​

IMPORTANT! If you are under 18 years old and want to travel alone or with only one parent, you must include Form 1229 – Consent to grant an Australian visa to a child under the age of 18 (276KB PDF) with your application. Your parent(s) or legal guardian must fill out and sign Form 1229. You must also supply a copy of the signer’s driver’s license or passport (or another form of identification with signature and photo).

Application Requirements

1) If you are applying for a visa for a family member under the age of 18, you must provide a copy of their birth certificate and passport, as well as a copy of both parents’ passports.

2) When applying for a visa, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to support yourself throughout your stay in Australia. You must include papers such as your most recent bank statement in your Immigration Account.

3) If you’re coming to Australia to see relatives or friends, send a copy of a letter they received welcoming you to visit. 

Your visa application must include documents proving that you intend to return to your native country for a job, family, study, or other reasons.

These documents may include:

I) A current payslip. 

II) Employer leave letter.

III) Education certificate in the home country.

IV) Birth certificates for children.​​

Biometrics Information

After submitting your visa application, check your ImmiAccount on a regular basis to determine whether you need to supply us with any further information, such as biometric data (picture and fingerprints). 

If you have been asked for biometric data, please provide it as quickly as possible so that your visa application is not delayed. 

You may need to travel some distance to a designated biometric collecting centre. As soon as you receive the request, make arrangements to have your biometric data collected.
