Kenyan Authorities Foil Double Human Trafficking Attempts At JKIA
Security authorities at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) arrested four people in connection with two different cases of alleged immigration fraud and human trafficking.
The first incident occurred when cops intercepted a suspect on his way to Amsterdam after identifying abnormalities in his travel credentials during routine inspections.
Authorities discovered that he was in possession of a fake visa to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Further investigations resulted in the arrest of another person, who is accused of facilitating the trip arrangements.

Vigilant officers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have foiled two major immigration fraud and human trafficking attempts.

According to the NPS, she is likely to face prosecution for human trafficking and immigration fraud.
In a different incident at the same airport, police seized a Sudanese national on his way to the United Kingdom after immigration officers discovered he was carrying a counterfeit UK resident permit.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a Kenyan national accused of facilitating travel using fake credentials.
These events come after officials from Nairobi’s Lucky Summer Police Station arrested ten Ethiopian nationals on February 5 after intercepting them on the Korogocho-Lucky Summer road during a regular security operation.

Police claimed that the people were found without travel documents or identity; therefore, they were detained for further investigation.
According to authorities, the group will be processed for a court appearance and subjected to the appropriate administrative and immigration procedures under the law.
Earlier last year, an Ethiopian national reported paying Ksh700,000 to be smuggled through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
He was later intercepted by Malawian authorities during onward travel and subsequently deported back to Kenya.
