Wandayi Appoints Peter Kenneth As Ruto’s CSs Make Fresh State Appointments
Several Cabinet Secretaries have announced new nominations and re-appointments to major state agencies and organizations, about a year before the next General Elections, reshaping leadership in a variety of sectors, including defense, energy, education, and commerce.
Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya oversaw the most recent changes, which included re-appointing Edward Cherop Kimosop to the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans for a three-year term beginning May 2, 2026.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 (2) (c) of the Military Veterans Act, the Defence Council re-appoints Lt.Col. (Rtd) Edward Cherop Kimosop as a Member of the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from May 2, 2026,” read part of the notice.
In the creative sector, Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya reappointed John Njogu Njoroge as Chairperson of the Kenya Film Classification Board.
Mvurya also reappointed numerous board members to three-year terms beginning February 24, including John Muigai Nyururu, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri, and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito.
His Agriculture counterpart, Mutahi Kagwe, also made changes at the Kenya Dairy Board (KDB), re-appointing Gabriel Pulei as a board member for another three-year term commencing February 20, this year.
In the trade sector, CS Lee Kinyanjui reappointed Francis Mugo as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Scrap Metal Council for another three-year term.
The education agenda also included new appointments to national polytechnic councils, with CS Julius Ogamba nominating James Okebiro Mageto and Ethel Nakhumicha Githirwa to the Council of Kiambu National Polytechnic for three years.
Ogamba also appointed Pauline M. Mallo Nagila and Julius Mokogi to the Council of Kabete National Polytechnic, while re-appointing Gilbert Kiptanui Nyongi as a member of the same council, all for three-year terms.

In the energy sector, CS Opiyo Wandayi re-appointed Mark Nderitu Muturi, Sammy Choge, and Peter Kenneth Kimani as members of the Board of Directors of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).
Separately, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), chaired by Chief Justice Martha Koome, appointed Stephen Odhiambo Anditi as Chairperson of the Public Private Partnerships Petition Committee, alongside four other members, for a three-year term.
In Uasin Gishu County, Governor Jonathan Bii has announced new appointments to the Board of the City of Eldoret.
Bii appointed Elzeba Busienei as the Eldoret City Manager, with Edward Sawe, Sammy Kimutai Bor, Alice Cheptoo Kositany, David Maizs, Ruth Limo, Hilda Jeruto Kibet, Titus Kipkemboi Yegoh, David Kipsang Nyolmo, Julie Jemutai Barmasai, Edith Chepkorir Koske, and David Mburu Kamau appointed as members of the board.
