Drama In Nakuru As Governor Kihika Booed While Delivering Ruto’s Speech At A Funeral

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika was forced to plead with mourners in Bahati Constituency on Friday to allow her to read President William Ruto’s condolence message at a funeral after the crowd became hostile to any statements from Kenya Kwanza officials.

As the reality of the changing political environment dawned on the leaders, some MPs in attendance were forced to cut short their speeches or completely deviate from the subject when the audience jeered.

Governor Kihika faced a difficult task in convincing the residents of Bibilioni village, who had gathered to send off Bahati MP Irene Njoki’s brother Henry Gachie, to allow her to read President Ruto’s condolence message.

The Nakuru County boss pleaded with the crowd that the message was for the family, but her voice was drowned out by the jeers.

After hurriedly reading the President’s speech, Governor Kihika thanked the mourners for their valuable feedback.

“Siku hizi mko moto sana…tunashukuru kwa kutupa ujumbe wa hali halisi,” she said.

But Kihika wasn’t alone. Previously, Ndia MP George Macharia’s efforts to preach the government’s gospel were met with silence. He, too, was forced to retreat and surrender.

Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Wamuratha was forced to perform as a soloist after the mourners declined her invitation to participate in the popular Kikuyu song.

She managed to capture the attention of the mourners with her signature song introduction.

Kanini Kega, an EALA MP, distanced himself from the country’s current events.

“Sitaki kuongea mengi kwa sababu mimi huwa siko huku, mimi huwa Tanzania. Kwa hivo muniulize mambo ya Tanzania, Arusha, Somalia…,” chipped Kega.

Other speakers decided to stick to more appropriate topics given the circumstances.
