MURDER SUSPECT: Police Arrest Deceased University Student’s Boyfriend
New information has emerged regarding the death of 19-year-old Faith Musembi, who was discovered dead inside her rented flat in Pilot Estate in Thika Sub-County last week.
According to reports, cops seized a 25-year-old university student who is being investigated as the primary suspect.
Preliminary investigations found that the two had a tight and personal relationship.
According to the authorities, the primary suspect apparently murdered Musembi because of suspected infidelity.
When the victim died, investigators determined that her placenta had entirely detached, resulting in severe bleeding.
The detectives have yet to determine whether the suspect had grounds to doubt the paternity of the unborn child.
“We have the main suspect in custody and are conducting thorough investigations. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) is on the matter and the suspect will be produced in court,” Thika Police Boss Lawrence Muchangi informed the press.
Faith’s body was discovered last week in a rented apartment by her father, Boniface Musembi after she vanished without a trace.
The killer called the victim’s family and demanded a ransom for their release.
After the family contributed Ksh27,000, the killer increased the sum to Ksh60,000, asking that the family immediately obtain the funds if they loved their daughter.
Faith’s family went to Thika West Police Station but were dismayed when the officers said there was no need for concern.
“They (police officers) informed me that it could be a trick played by my daughter’s friends,” Boniface stated.
“We want the authorities to ensure that the person responsible for his heinous act is punished to the fullest extent of the law.”
