Big Names That Graced Ruto’s Historic US State Dinner

President Joe Biden of the United States hosted a historic state dinner at the White House in Washington, DC, to mark President William Ruto’s state visit.

The occasion marked the end of Ruto’s tour to the United States of America, where the two inked important investment agreements to strengthen US-Kenya relations.

Following the signing of the important agreements, Biden and First Lady Jill Biden met President Ruto and his wife Rachel for a state dinner to which approximately 500 people were invited.

The list featured prominent members of society such as former presidents, actors, politicians, and media people.

The Kenyan delegation accompanying Ruto included Meg Whitman, ambassador to Kenya, Opiyo Wandayi (Senate Minority Leader), Anne Waiguru (Chairperson of the Council of Governors), John Waiguru, Adan Mohamed, Noordin Haji (National Intelligence Service Chief), and Hussein Mohamed (State House Spokesperson).

The attendees were David Ndii (President Ruto’s economic advisor), Cecily Mbarire (Embu Governor), Kimani Ichung’wah (National Assembly Majority Leader), Korir Sing’oei (Foreign Affairs PS), and Ruto’s daughters, Stephanie Ruto, June Ruto, and Cullie Ruto.

The event was attended by Cabinet Secretaries Soipan Tuya (Environment), Njuguna Ndung’u (Treasury), Musalia Mudavadi (Foreign Affairs), Rebecca Miano (Trade), and Aden Duale (Defence).
