Support The Multinational Security To Haiti – Ruto’s Call To G7 Leaders In Italy

In light of Kenya’s planned deployment of troops to Haiti, President William Ruto sought G7 support on Friday, June 14.

Addressing the high-profile summit, President Ruto emphasized the importance of sending troops to the Caribbean nation.

He urged G7 member states to step up their support for Kenya as it prepares to send police officers to Haiti.

“In every collective endeavour, let us scale up the benefits of a G7-Africa partnership to reach and transform every part of the world,” Ruto stated.

“This is why Kenya calls on the G7 to urgently support the multinational security support mission to Haiti.”

Ruto’s plea comes just days after it was revealed the timeline for Kenyan police deployment to the war-torn country.

President Ruto announced during a church service in Nakuru that the deployment would take place within the next two weeks.

He reiterated Kenya’s commitment to restoring peace in the Caribbean nation.

“We have a very blessed nation that is being depended on by foreign nations as well, People from Sudan, and DRC are waiting on Kenya to assist them,” Ruto stated.

“For those in Haiti maybe this coming week or next week we will deploy our Police to maintain peace,” he added.

Meanwhile, while attending the G7, President Ruto urged summit attendees to help tame the insecurity problem, which he claimed had become a sore spot for many African countries.

“Africa continues to face numerous conflicts, including long-forgotten wars that have claimed countless lives. Hundreds of thousands of people have died in Sudan, and millions more are displaced and facing starvation,” according to Ruto.
