ANTI-FINANCE BILL PROTESTS: Journalist Blasts Police For Allegedly Beating Up People(VIDEO)

Journalists from the Nation Media Group intervened after a police officer was seen beating up a protester.
The Star obtained a video of a group of police officers surrounding a protester.
An NTV journalist identified as Ibrahim Karanja was heard criticizing a police officer for allegedly beating up a protester.
He sounded the alarm and instructed his photographer to follow him and document the incident.
“Kuna polisi ambaye anamtandika muandamanaji, njoo. Ndugu mbona unatandika watu, mbona unapiga watu no no, that is wrong,” he said.
He approached the police officer but was seen pushing him away and retreating.

“Sasa unataka kunipiga mimi, nipige, no nipige,” Karanja said while going down on his knees with arms stretched forward.
The officers then retreated and departed. Protesters shouted that they were peaceful and should be left to exercise their democratic rights.
On the second day of the Occupy Parliament protests in Nairobi, anti-riot police engage protesters opposing the Finance Bill.
Protesters gathered in large numbers to confront anti-riot police near Nyayo House and the areas surrounding Kimathi Street, Cardinal Otunga House, and Kipande Street.
A journalist from an international media company was discovered injured, and his colleagues rushed him to safety.
During Thursday’s protests, the scribe was allegedly hit by a tear gas canister.
