‘I Do Private Business’ – Millicent Omanga Defends Her Extravagance Lifestyle
Former senator Millicent Omanga has responded to claims that she has done business with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
According to reports circulating on social media, Omanga makes a lot of money from government tenders.
Omanga responded by stating that she does not work for or do business with the government.
Omanga went on to say that she had never benefited from President William Ruto’s administration.
“I need to clear a misconception. I, Millicent Omanga, neither work for the government of Kenya nor am I a tenderpreneuer in this government,” she said on X.
“I’m a private person doing private business. Isitoshe, I’ve never benefited from this government either in cash or kind. Wanted to make this clear!”

Omanga was one of several people appointed by Ruto as Chief Administrative Secretary in March 2023. She was to work in the Ministry of the Interior and National Administration.
Ruto appointed 50 new CAS members, but three months later, the court slammed breaks on the appointments.
A three-judge bench comprised of Justices Hedwig Ong’udi, Kanyi Kimondo, and Aleem Visram determined that the office was not established in accordance with the law.
In February 2024, Omanga denied receiving government salaries for the non-existent position of Chief Administrative Secretary.
Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai had sensationally claimed that Omanga “went for Sh700,000 pay from State House on Friday,” presumably as her salary for the CAS position.
