NO APOLOGY! Rift Valley MPs Skip DP Rigathi Gachagua’s Event In Bomet
On Sunday, Bomet Governor Hillary Bachok revealed that no Member of Parliament in the county attended an event featuring Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The Deputy Head of State had traveled to Bomet County to attend a fundraising event held at Deliverance Church International in Kaplong.
While addressing the congregation, Barchok noted that none of the lawmakers showed up, but he only received an apology from Linet Chepkorir Toto, Bomet Woman Representative, for not attending.
“I am sorry Your Excellency, I only received one apology from Toto, Woman Rep, I don’t see my MPs. I don’t know whether they have been instructed not to associate with the Deputy President or not,” he told the congregation of which Gachagua was a member.
“I want to start by saying that if you want to unite the country, let us embrace everybody even if we have different opinions.”

Barchok, on the other hand, informed the second-in-command that he had met with the youth prior to arriving at the church and had outlined some of their demands, particularly those of Generation Z.
For example, the governor stated that the youth want President William Ruto and his deputy to go on a soul-searching mission to determine what went wrong in the ruling Kenya Kwanza.
He also stated that his county’s citizens made it clear that Kenyans are dissatisfied with politicians, particularly those who surround the Head of State and his deputy, and that the protests extended beyond the Finance Bill.
“It is beyond the finance bill. Actually, the Finance Bill gave them an avenue to air out their issues and we support the youth forum that the President put in place,” he stated.
They highlighted issues such as carelessness and unwarranted pronouncements from leaders, displays of arrogance, and opulence in the midst of poverty.
As a result, the youth advised all leaders to carefully consider their words before public rallies and to avoid arrogance and public displays of opulence.
The ruling Kenya Kwanza Coalition is currently in damage control mode after Gen Zs staged a protest, prompting the Head of State to withdraw the Finance Bill 2024 entirely.
