Bishop Denies Politicians A Chance To Speak At Ruto’s Event In Nyandarua
On Sunday, July 14, politicians accompanying President William Ruto to a church service in Nyandarua County were denied the opportunity to address the congregation.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed that the presiding Bishop had informed him that politicians were not permitted to deliver speeches from the altar.
As a result, only the Deputy President and President William Ruto addressed the congregation at AIPCA Ndogino, Ndaragwa, Nyandarua County.
President William Ruto and other politicians attended the event at Bishop David Kibao Mundia’s invitation.
After being denied the opportunity to speak, the politicians had to rely on DP Rigathi Gachagua to announce their presence to the congregation.

“Let me recognise these politicians. You know the church has told me today that these politicians are no longer allowed to speak,” Gachagua announced the end of political rhetoric in houses of worship.
Some of the leaders who accompanied the President included Nyandarua Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha and area Senator John Methu.
The area Member of Parliament, George Gachagua, who was hosting the Head of State, was also denied the opportunity to speak.
Notably, the crowd cheered when it was announced that local politicians would not be allowed to speak in church.
The Deputy President stated that if politicians do not listen to the will of the people, they will be voted out in 2027.
DP Gachagua also urged the residents to exercise political restraint and refrain from attacking the homes of local parliamentarians.
President William Ruto agreed with the Bishop’s request and stated that the government would look for alternative ways to fund church construction without using Harambees.
