‘Kindly Forgive Us’ – DP Gachagua To Ruto And Promises To Support Him Fully

On Saturday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua apologized to President William Ruto on behalf of other government officials.

Speaking in Elgeyo Marakwet, the Deputy President apologized on behalf of officials close to the President, admitting that some had failed him.

Gachagua praised the President’s decisions, which included shelving the Finance Bill 2024, dismissing all Cabinet Secretaries, and personally engaging with Kenyan youth via the X space.

“The President you are a hero and to all of us who have messed you up in your administration, kindly forgive us.”

He acknowledged Ruto’s willingness to make bold decisions in the best interests of Kenyans.

The Deputy President expressed confidence that the government now has the opportunity to appoint a competent team that will improve the efficiency with which Kenyans receive services.

He urged President Ruto to carefully consider his options and devote the necessary time to assembling a competent cabinet.

He also assured the President of his commitment to finding competent and patriotic individuals who can effectively manage the various government departments and assist the administration.

“We are ready to assist you in coming up with a good team to help you in the economic transformation of the country.”

He urged fellow leaders to pay attention to Kenyans’ concerns and avoid displays of opulence or arrogance while in positions of power.

He claimed that the President had acted in accordance with Kenyans’ wishes. He reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the President fulfills his campaign promises.

President William Ruto recently reshuffled his government by dismissing the entire cabinet, with the exception of the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary, with the goal of improving and effectively delivering services.
