Former CS Dismisses Flagged Posts’s Ambassadorial Appointment

On Wednesday, former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria denied being appointed Kenya’s Ambassador to Ukraine.

Kuria took to his X account to accuse certain media outlets of spreading rumors about his appointment to a new government position without proper authentication.

According to the ex-CS, the allegations about his appointment as Ukraine’s Ambassador were false, and Kuria urged Kenyans not to believe such unfounded claims.

Kuria stated that credible and accurate information about his new appointment would only be shared through his verified social media accounts.

“I would like to clarify and assure everyone that the credible and accurate details about any new appointment will only be shared through my official Facebook page and my verified X account,” the former CS stated.

The flagged post alleged that former CSs Moses Kuria, Aisha Jumwa, and Ababu Namwamba had been appointed as Ukraine, Switzerland and Chad ambassadors respectively.

The trio are among the majority of former ministers who did not make it back into President William Ruto’s new cabinet.

Kuria’s clarification comes amid controversy over the Head of State’s new cabinet secretary nominations.

During a recent speech in Makueni, Moses Kuria slammed the Head of State’s new-look cabinet, expressing doubt about the nominees, particularly those from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

According to Kuria, despite his numerous accomplishments while in the cabinet, the position was also fraught with challenges.

Kuria questioned the nominees’ competence in addressing critical challenges facing President Ruto’s administration.

“Over 12 million people took hustler fund and have refused to repay. We were defeated to find a solution to the problem only for the head of state to nominate Oparanya to solve the problem facing the hustler fund,” Kuria alleged.

“Even in the coffee sector, we have a problem because cooperatives have refused to pay farmers, while in government, we tried to follow up on the matter but our efforts hit the rocks, now I believe Oparanya will help us solve the problem.”
