The CS nominee also promised to implement universal health coverage at the community level in order to ensure Kenyans have seamless access to healthcare services.
She also pledged to combat corruption within the Ministry of Health by strengthening existing processes and procedures in the healthcare sector.
“We can strengthen the processes and procedures that exist through adopting a digital platform, that way, we will reduce the human-to-human interaction,” CS Nominee Debra Barasa stated.
To address the challenges of the transition from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), the Health CS nominee promised to collaborate with community members to ensure Kenyans understand the need for change.
According to Barasa, the current challenges in the transition from NHIF to SHIF are due to a lack of community engagement.
