Kenyan Activists Vow To Present Murdered People’s Names To Ruto
The Community Justice Centre has announced plans to send a delegation to President William Ruto with a list of those who have been killed or gone missing.
During a press conference on Friday, the groups demanded justice for the victims of the Kware killings and those affected by the recent GenZ demonstrations.
They confirmed that a formal list of the deceased and missing people will be delivered to the president’s office on Tuesday, September 4, 2024.
”We will take Ruto’s challenge to be presented with a list of those killed/disappeared and will send a delegation to the Office of the President with the list,” stated Human rights activist and CEO of VOCAL Africa, Hussein Khalid.

Khalid emphasized that extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances have become major human rights concerns, particularly following the GenZ protests.
He asserted that the time for silence was over and demanded immediate justice.
“Extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances have become a major human rights concern in the country since the onset of the GenZ protests,” he added.
“We can no longer remain silent over the issue. Justice must be done now.”
The move follows a tragic discovery in July of mutilated bodies in Nairobi’s Mukuru kwa Njenga slums.
Approximately 13 bodies were discovered, and some public speculation linked the deaths to the recent GenZ demonstrations.
However, Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor stated that neither the external nor internal examinations of the bodies revealed any injuries typically associated with bullets.
The investigation led to the arrest of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, a 33-year-old Vihiga County resident suspected of killing multiple victims.
Khalusha was apprehended in a Kayole club and found to be in possession of several SIM cards.
He is accused of dumping the bodies of his victims, including his wife, in a quarry. The suspect later escaped from police custody.
