UDA TOP Insider Reveals DP Gachagua Denied Privileges By The Gov’t

Gathoni Wamuchomba, a Githunguri MP and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) supporter, stated on Monday that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has begun to bear the brunt of disagreements with the ruling regime.

While appearing as a panelist on Citizen TV, Wamuchomba stated that while on his way to a church service on Sunday, he noticed that some of the privileges to which the DP is entitled had been removed.

The lawmaker, who has been a staunch supporter of Gachagua, pointed out that the DP was entitled to a security team and a convoy even when attending church, which were missing.

“For example yesterday, we went with the DP to church. The DP is supposed to be given his privileges,” she stated.

“He is supposed to be given an escort when he is going to church, he is going to be given security, and all his privileges. Can someone tell us yesterday if the deputy president got his privileges as a DP of Kenya?”

“I was with him the whole day and he did not receive all his privileges. He did not.”

“Who is this person whose job is to remove all these privileges from the DP’s office? Who is this person whose business is to remove the DP from the diary of the executive President?” Wamuchomba added.

She argued that the Head of State was elected by Kenyans, including Mt Kenya residents, who she argued deserved an explanation from the Head of State.

Furthermore, Wamuchomba stated that the beck and call of Gachagua’s impeachment rested on the Head of State, who she argued should step forward and publicly state his position.

“I personally feel the president himself must give a nod to impeach Rigathi Gachagua and what we want from the President is nothing else, not on top of the roof car promise, not a presser to tell there is no impeachment,” the lawmaker posed.

“We want him to appear on this television (Citizen TV) and any other television station saying he is going to fight for his deputy president as he promised during our Kasarani nomination.”

“I was there when we nominated his excellency the President as our candidate in UDA to vie as a president and he promised in front of cameras and he said he was tormented, faced a lot of tribulations when he was the DP and he said never again will the deputy president of Kenya go through what he went through.”

Wamuchomba stated yesterday that impeachment proceedings against the DP were underway and would be tabled in Parliament next week.

Furthermore, ousted UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala revealed that Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and his Homa Bay Town counterpart Peter Kaluma had been assigned to lead the impeachment.
