Jeremiah Kioni Storms Out Of Live Interview Over Daadab MP’s Controversial Remarks
High drama unfolded live on screen after Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni walked out of a television interview on Wednesday night, refusing to engage Daadab MP Farah Maalim.
The dramatic incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on TV 47, when Kioni and Maalim were invited to participate in a panel discussion about the State of the Nation.
Kioni became agitated when Farah Maalim denied making remarks calling on President William Ruto to crack down on Gen Z protestors, before demanding that Kioni produce evidence that he did.
The interviewer’s desperate efforts to protect Maalim were futile, as Kioni, seemingly annoyed by the MP’s stance, was forced to cut him off midway, insisting he would not continue to debate Farah.

“It is my business to ensure I am engaging in a debate with people who have respect for Kenyans,” he fired at the interviewer.
MP Farah and the interviewer asked Kioni to provide evidence of the aforementioned statements.
“It is not for me to take him to court, he said and he is a mature person,” Kioni hit back.
Kioni chastised Farah for refusing to apologize for his remarks, prompting him to storm out of the studio live on camera following an exchange with both the interviewer and his fellow panelist.
Kioni told the interviewer that if he knew he was going to debate with MP Farah, he would decline the interview because he could not share the podium with Farah.

“I came here because you invited me and I asked you clearly who is this I am coming to debate with. If you would have told me it is Farah I would have respectfully told you no,” he reasoned.

Kioni then blamed the interviewer for forcing him to debate a man he saw as disrespectful to Kenyans’ lives.
“I am taking offence that you (interviewer) are putting on the same table with a person who wanted to kill 5,000 Gen Zs and there is no way he can escape with it,” Kioni asserted as he walked out.
MP Farah demanded that Kioni produce evidence. “When you don’t have substance and you are scared of somebody,” he defended himself.
“He (Kioni) understands my position, he understands my principle he understands my history very well and he knows he cannot debate with me on substantive issues that’s why he has to digress into other issues.”
