Evening Rainfall Causes Flood Havoc In Nairobi, Highways Closed
Many Nairobi motorists are having difficulty getting home tonight due to significant flooding caused by heavy rainfall.
Images and videos uploaded online show some vehicles stalled and nearly buried in flood waters.
“I’m stuck at Parklands and live along Thika Road. Double tragedy. It looks like I will transnight in a bar taking soda),” lamented a motorist.
A separate video filmed in the Kilimani region and shared on X showed highly flooded roads, with one user jokingly suggesting that they be rerouted to State House.

Several more comments from Kenyans in other parts of the city depicted a bleak picture, with many criticizing the inadequate drainage infrastructure.
“Wale walikataa kutoka kwa riparian lands how it’s going?”
