Top KTN Journalist Has Landed Lucrative Gov’t Job
On Monday, December 23, KTN news anchor Ali Manzu was chosen as chairperson of the Mombasa County Creative Economy Task Force.
The newly constituted 9-member task team is consistent with Governor Abdulswamad Sherrif Nassir’s intention to align with his Mwanzo Mpya agenda.
“The County Government of Mombasa, under the Mwanzo Mpya Manifesto, is committed to nurturing and developing the creative economy by facilitating innovation, talent, research, production, distribution, and exploitation of intellectual property, including audiovisual arts, performing arts, visual arts, design, and literary,” the Governor stated in his appointment notice.
The nine would be entrusted with advising and recommending to the Mombasa County Government on its creative economy.

The other eight members are Caroline Ngorobi as Vice-Chair, Awadh Salim, Hellen Mwanzia, Kessi Juma, Michel Jerry, Daudi Anguka, Margaret Matunda, and Esther Ingolo as Secretary.
They will serve for six months, beginning on December 20, according to the notice.
Manzu, a news anchor on KTN, is also the Swahili Deputy Editor and has been with the Standard Group for almost a decade.
Following his appointment, countless X users praised him and wished him well in his new position.

Lindah Oguttu, a former coworker, was among those who congratulated Manzu via social media.
“Congratulations my brother Ali Manzu. You so deserve this,” the former KTN News anchor wrote on social media.
