‘I am Only Listening To Opinions!’ – Rigathi Gachagua Says On Wamunyoro Visits
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua disclosed on Sunday when he will make his next political move, denying allegations that he has endorsed anyone for a political post.
Gachagua went on another diatribe against President William Ruto during a Church Service at PCEA Emmanuel Matanya, Waguthiru Parish, Laikipia East Constituency, Laikipia County, as he urged the Mount Kenya region to remain united.
The impeached former DP denied endorsing anyone, revealing that he would make his next political move at the end of January.
“Let me say those people who come to see me at Wamunyoro. I hear on TV saying that Gachagua has endorsed so and so to become governor. Let it be known that I am only listening to opinions,” Gachagua said.

He added, “I’ve listened to your opinions and by the end of the month, I’ll send back a report to you.”
In the same service, the former DP also clearly hinted at forging an alliance with all of Ruto’s rivals to mount a formidable challenge for the presidency in the next election.
“I want to tell you not to fear. We have many friends in Luhyaland, Kambaland, Maasai, and Kisiiland. Let us be united so that we can be strong,” Gachagua said.
He also criticized some Mount Kenya Members of Parliament and Senators, stating they were ‘purchased’ by President Ruto’s dictatorship.

Gachagua’s remark that he had ‘friends’ in Kambaland was another significant indication that he could potentially join forces with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Weeks earlier, on December 18, the impeached former Deputy President insisted that the Ukambani community had the numbers to change the tide against President Ruto’s camp if they turned out in significant numbers to register as voters.

He also stated he owed Kalonzo a favor and was eager to fulfill his debt.
“We owe Kalonzo and you people. We are in talks with Kalonzo and we will strategise well. We are talking as Kenyans and looking for a way to improve the economy and end the trend of lies in the country.”
As things stand, Gachagua is ineligible to run for political office since the constitution prohibits leaders who have been impeached from running.
However, there is a chance Gachagua could restore his eligibility because his legal team filed another appeal with the Court of Appeal disputing a three-judge bench’s rejection to disqualify itself from his impeachment proceedings owing to established bias.
