Nairobi Man Punches Tout To Death In An Unwarranted Road Rage
A cart pusher was detained after reportedly punching and killing a tout during a road rage incident in Nairobi’s Huruma district.
Witnesses said the deceased tout, Kennedy Oduor, 40, of Huruma Sacco, was reversing his matatu at Sokoni when he unintentionally hit a handcart stocked with water jerricans.
Out of rage, the cart pusher confronted the tout and allegedly hit him, knocking him down on the asphalt road.
Police claimed he suffered major head injuries and was brought to the MSF Clinic on Juja Road, where he was pronounced dead while being treated.
The suspect was then captured and imprisoned for questioning before being charged with murder.
Police warn that road rage is one of the top causes of death in the country.
In another incident, a 20-year-old guy was discovered dead after allegedly being stabbed by an assailant during a brawl in Nairobi’s Mukuru slum.
Police said Ramadhan Shaban was stabbed during a disagreement with a man he knew.
