Following demonstrations that began last night, a group of irate young people in Majengo set fire to a police vehicle.
A billowing cloud of fire was observed erupting from certain buildings in videos and photographs published online, but it was unclear if these were administrative offices or police stations.
According to reports, the protests began after an alleged fatal shot of a little kid by a police officer on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, police were dispatched to the scene to settle the situation, and tear gas was thrown at the protesting youngsters, but tensions remained high.

According to reports from social justice centres, three more persons have been injured as police officers continue to disperse the noisy crowds.
According to unconfirmed allegations, irate youths demolished an administrative office.
Since the suspected murder occurred last night, outraged locals have flocked to the streets, demanding responsibility from those involved.
As is customary, anti-riot police officers rushed in to try to quiet the throng.
Nonetheless, the unwavering teenagers have persisted and continue to cause havoc in the Majengo area, with disturbances also affecting numerous neighboring areas.

The protests come as Kenya is already dealing with the consequences of suspected extrajudicial executions in the region.
On Tuesday, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) expressed similar worries over accusations of police torture, abductions, and even murder during the ongoing Ondoa Jangili expedition in Isiolo and Marsabit counties.
The commission asked the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) and the National Police Service (NPS) to guarantee that all police officials implicated in the atrocities face legal charges.
