Auctioneers Go After Former MP’s Two Companies In Kiambu

A business situated in Westlands, Nairobi, has filed a notice announcing the upcoming auction of two industrial properties owned by former Thika Town Member of Parliament (MP) Patrick Wainaina, nicknamed Jungle.

In a notice published in the Daily Nation on March 10, the firm asked interested bidders to bid on the assets on March 25, 2025.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. at the company’s offices on Karuna Road, Nairobi.

The first property up for auction is on a plot of land known as L. R. NO. 4953/1238 in Makongeni, Thika.

“The property identified on the ground as Jungle Macs EPZ (Jungle 1) is situated within Makongeni area of Thika, Kiambu County,” the notice read.

To get to the property from Thika Town, bidders should go 3.73 kilometers on Garrisa Road and turn right at Delta Petrol Station.

They will next travel 600 metres along the earth-surfaced road before arriving at the destination.

The 1.93-acre site is divided into two go-down blocks, a loading and unloading bay, an office block, a store/laundry block, and a workshop.

Godown block A includes a receiving or dryer area, a cracking machine area, a physical sorting area, packaging, and storage, whereas block B houses the chopping and sorting section.

The second property being auctioned is located in the same area and is just approximately 500 yards away from the first.

L. R. NO. 6/1072, also known as Jungle Macs EPZ (Jungle 7), is around 2.46 acres in size.

It also comes with three go-down blocks, a sentry block, and a loading and unloading area.

This property’s Godown Block A includes a receiving or drying space, a cracking and machine sorting area, a physical sorting and packing area, and a constructed pasteurizer room.

Block B contains a loading or preparation space, a machine unit area, and a grading and packing area.

Block C contains four cold rooms. The lower floor of this two-story building houses a generator, changing rooms, and restrooms, while the upper floor houses the offices.

Both locations already have mains electricity, piped water, a septic tank, and a sewer line for drainage.

A yearly revisable rent of Ksh9,216 for the first property and Ksh30,000 for the second property applies.

“Bidders will be required to produce a bidding deposit of Ksh10 million by way of cash or bankers’ cheque before being allowed to bid,” the notice concluded.

This notification comes just a month after rumors surfaced that the auctioneers were seeking the former lawmaker and a business partner for unpaid loans associated with their macadamia processing businesses.
