REVEALED: Briton Businessman’s Murder Linked To Tinder Gang
According to troubling new data, Scottish businessman Campbell Scott was most certainly the victim of a merciless criminal ring targeting wealthy visitors and expatriates.
The businessman went missing in February after checking into a luxury hotel in Nairobi, sparking a massive search that ended tragically when his body was discovered six days later in Makongo Forest, Makueni County.
The finding of his death 60 miles from where he was last seen indicated foul play, with authorities tying his murder to an organized crime group.
As of March 11, authorities were still looking for three major suspects in the murder, including one Bernard, who is thought to be the leader of the renowned group that targets foreigners.
According to sources, the gang’s strategy entails enticing victims via online dating sites, with international men being among its prime targets.
Using social media and dating applications like Tinder and Facebook, the gang members use female accomplices to arrange meetings under the idea of love interactions.
The unwary victims arrive at the predetermined location—usually a rented flat—and are attacked and tortured for financial information. In severe circumstances, they are murdered.
In Scott’s case, CCTV evidence showed him leaving a bar in Westlands with an unidentified male, who authorities say is the main suspect.
According to the Scottish Daily Express, the two took a taxi to Pipeline, where Scott was taken captive, tortured for his bank data, and eventually slain.
According to the outlet, KSh 1.9 million (£12,000) was withdrawn from his account.

When his remains were discovered, they showed evidence of a severe assault, including acid burns.
Notably, Bernard, the main suspect who remains at large, has already been tied to a number of violent crimes.
In one episode, the group assaulted and stripped a preacher in Nairobi, stealing his things. Bernard has also been charged in absentia with similar offenses against two other foreign nationals, one Indian and one Turkish.
This pattern of criminal activity is not new. In October 2020, the suspect and his cousins were apprehended for robbing an Israeli national near Nairobi.
