Gachagua Attends First Church Service Weeks After Mwiki Attack

Gachagua is attending this Sunday’s service at Boiman Ol Joro-Orok Catholic Church in preparation for an interview with a TV station situated in Mount Kenya later that evening.

“On Sunday, 27th April 2025, we discuss matters of our Nation, our future, and our progress as a people and as Kenyans. Join me on Weru Television for a candid and truthful conversation,” Gachagua posted on his X account.

This is Gachagua’s second media interview in a month, following his April 8 interview with KTN, in which he leveled various claims against the administration.

Today’s church service is Gachagua’s first public appearance since goons attacked a Sunday service in Mwiki two weeks ago (April 6), causing damage to several vehicles in his convoy.

Following the incident at PCEA Mwiki Church, Gachagua submitted a letter to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, alleging that his life was in danger.

He mentioned a series of claimed attacks on his political meetings and church events in Kiambu, Naivasha, and other locations in the country.

Nyandarua is regarded as one of Gachagua’s strongholds, with local Senator John Methu among his most faithful supporters.

Methu has been a vocal critic of the Kenya Kwanza government, defending Gachagua on public occasions.

Gachagua’s visit to Nyandarua comes three weeks after President William Ruto explored the area during his five-day trip to Mount Kenya.

However, Ruto’s Mt Kenya brigade met opposition during the Nyandarua leg of the visit on March 3, when villagers heckled a group of leaders.
