[DETAILS] Police Investigate After Ruto Was Hit With Flying Shoe
Police have failed to apprehend the major suspect in the exceedingly unusual occurrence in which President William Ruto narrowly escaped a flying shoe on Sunday.
While addressing an audience during his working visit in Kuria West, Migori County, the President swatted aside a sneaker aimed at his head.
According to shared videos, the shoe appeared from the crowd and was about to hit his head when he used his raised arm to redirect it away.

The president was then compelled to cut his speech short when he discussed cutting the cost of living.
When the piece of footwear was thrown at Ruto, one cop immediately jumped to his defense.
According to police sources, despite apprehending three individuals, Migori County police, in partnership with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), are pursuing the major suspect.
According to sources, police believe the attack was premeditated and organized days before President Ruto arrived in the area.
Police are currently questioning the three suspects in order to identify the primary suspect who hurled the shoe.
However, police have confirmed that investigations into the incident have been expanded to include other suspects.
The police have not described the apprehended suspects, and no comment has been issued by the statehouse.
Following the incident, leaders publicly denounced the action, with many calling it rude.

The Nairobi County Woman Representative, Esther Passaris, has strongly castigated the incident, branding it as a ‘provocation’.
In an X post on Sunday, May 5, the legislator, who highlighted the need to respect the president, added that such instances would be important to destroying the country’s stability.
The event happened during the president’s three-day development tour in Migori County.
He initiated and commissioned various projects, including the 298-unit Kehancha Affordable Housing Project in Kuria West, Migori County.
