‘I am Mary Mother Of Jesus!’ – Busia Woman Declares
A woman in Busia has claimed that she has been chosen to be Jesus’ mother, referring to herself as ‘Mary, mother of Jesus’.
Judith Nafula left the Catholic Church, claiming she was called to be Jesus’ mother.
According to her, a light emerged, notifying her that she had been selected to be the ‘mother of Jesus’.
“Light ilitoka juu ikashuka chini na sauti ikatoka katikati ikasema mimi ni Kristo nimetumwa na Baba ninatafuta Mama Maria,” she said.

“Nikamjibu, mimi sijui Mama Maria akaniambia ni wewe, ni kitu ambayo ilikuwa imejificha na wakati umewadia uweze kujitambulisha.”
Nafula claimed she had previously camped on the mountain for two months when she had been sent to deliver messages to Kenyans.
Her husband, John Wekulo, described his reaction to learning that his wife had been chosen to be Jesus’ mother as ‘shock’.
He stated that after his wife was identified as Jesus’ mother, he was also approached as Joseph, Jesus’ “father.”
Other family members attested to miracles she reportedly did, such as healing people.
According to Nafula, several neighbors have criticized her for reportedly delivering miracles, referring to them as ‘forces of the dark’.

This follows discussions over regulating religion in the country.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen stated in April that the Cabinet would evaluate the Presidential taskforce’s recommendations on the reform of laws governing religious organisations in Kenya.
Murkomen said that a Cabinet committee is reviewing the findings of a task force chaired by Rev Mutava Musyimi, which suggested reforms to combat religious extremism.
He stated that the report will be reviewed by the entire Cabinet before being submitted to Parliament for consideration.
“The Cabinet committee has considered a raft of recommendations by the Mutava Musyimi-led taskforce proposing a legal framework for the regulation of churches,” stated the CS.
“Next week, the cabinet will consider the report and approve it for onward tabling and consideration by the National Assembly.”
He was responding to the Migori incident, in which two congregants died and 57 were rescued from a church after refusing to be treated at a nearby hospital.

Murkomen also praised Migori County security agents for taking fast steps to rein in a church suspected of practicing anti-constitutional ideas.
“The process is on course, and reforms recommended will be considered. Those practising extremist activities will be apprehended as they pose a danger to their congregants,” he noted.
“Registration of religious organisations is done with good intentions, but some go ahead to introduce errant teachings.”
Murkomen acknowledged the crucial role that religious institutions serve but criticized a few for taking advantage of weak believers seeking supernatural intervention.
