Gov’t Revokes Licence for 13 Nairobi Transport Operators
The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) will terminate the operating licenses of 13 Nairobi-based courier services within the next seven days.
The authority revealed in a published notification dated June 13, 2025, that the operators include four foreign and nine national courier operators.
“NOTICE is given pursuant to the provisions of the Kenya Information and Communications Act (Cap. 411A) that the Communications Authority of Kenya shall revoke the postal licences of the following service providers within seven (7) days from the date of this Gazette Notice,” the notice stated.
The international courier operators are Afrasia Courier Express, Courier Plus Logistics, Rioma Courier Services Limited, and Delta Handling Services.
National courier operators include Crucible Investment, Ultimate North, Cilantro Solutions, Classic Luxury, Diamond Parcel Limited, EMD Solutions Company Limited, Four M Africa Limited, Eve on the Move Limited, and Garvins Logistics.
Courier service companies specialize in the delivery of shipments, documents, and merchandise both domestically and internationally.
If the government revokes a courier service provider’s license, the company is no longer authorized to provide parcel transportation services.
A courier service provider’s license can be withdrawn for a variety of reasons, most notably failure to meet regulatory criteria and maintain service quality.
Other common causes include failing to pay license renewal costs, inability to fulfill service quality standards, and breaches in privacy and data security.
